I bumped into an old work colleague this week. He only recognised me because I was with my husband. He said that if I’d been there alone he wouldn’t have known it was me as I look so different. He would have walked straight past me. Half the time I seem to forget that I’ve lost 98 lbs. I forget how far I’ve come. It is nice to have reminders, especially as it seems to take a while for our mental perception of ourselves to shift.
I’ve changed so much since losing weight. Fitness is part of my life now and I love it. It has made me so much more positive. I’ve achieved major weight loss and become fit — both things that I never thought I’d be able to do. This has shown me that anything is possible. We can do whatever we set our minds to.
I’ve still got a little way to go before I get to my goal weight, but I am on track and positive that I’ll get there.
